Scalp Micropigmentation
in North Andover, MA

The look of a fuller head of hair, or a freshly buzzed scalp, without surgery, medication, or a single hair transplanted.

Scalp micropigmentation (SMP) is a cosmetic tattooing technique that deposits tiny dots of pigment into the scalp to mimic the look of real hair follicles. Done well, it reads as natural texture and density, not an obvious tattoo. It's one of the most effective non-surgical options available for camouflaging thinning hair, a receding hairline, or scarring, and hair loss affects a lot more men and women than people talk about openly.

What SMP Can and Can't Do

It's worth being upfront about this: SMP doesn't regrow hair. What it does is create the visual illusion of density and coverage using pigment alone. If your goal is a closely shaved, stubble-length look, or you want to reduce the contrast between scalp and thinning hair so it reads as fuller, SMP is genuinely one of the best tools for that. If you're hoping to grow real hair back, a hair transplant is a different conversation entirely.

Who This Is For

  • Men and women with pattern hair loss or a receding hairline

  • Thinning hair or a visible scalp at the crown

  • Scarring from surgery, injury, or a previous hair transplant

  • Anyone who wants a clean, closely-shaved look without relying on constantly shaving to maintain it

What the Process Looks Like

SMP is done in a series of sessions rather than all at once, both to build up density gradually and to make sure the pigment settles the way it should. Each session usually runs a couple of hours, and you'll want a few days between sessions before washing the treated area so the pigment has time to set properly.

Performed by a Trained Provider

Scalp micropigmentation is performed personally by Cristiana, who lists SMP specifically among her trained specialties alongside permanent makeup and body art. Like any cosmetic tattooing procedure, it carries similar considerations to a regular tattoo, which is exactly why it matters that it's done by someone trained and experienced in the technique specifically, not just tattooing in general.
